HitchBOT has met an untimely death and now his long journey, based on thumbing rides from caring strangers, has ended after being vandalized in Philadelphia. HitchBot had only been in the United States for two weeks.
The researchers who created the hitchhiking robot, (that successfully traveled all of Germany and Canada,) issued the following statement:
